On April 2nd I received news from my leader that I was going to be included in the short-term furlough that would be impacting thousands of executive, salaried and non-union hourly employees based in the U.S. This closure period is effective starting April 19.
I had so many questions:
What is a furlough?
Do I still have a job?
When am I coming back to the company and job I love?
Did I do something wrong?
How am I going to pay my bills?
How do I apply for unemployment?
With all these questions I started to feel more and more overwhelmed and knew I quickly needed to work with my company and do my own research to start answering these questions and build a plan. I wanted to share some of these resources with you and hopefully they will help you build your plan.

I am so thankful that my company is still paying for my health insurance and educational reimbursement during this furlough period. I hope these resources are helpful and I look forward to continuing to share additional resources and help each other during this uncertain time.
