Home Matters Most

It is no secret that we are navigating through uncharted territory due to COVID-19. For many of us, our employment has been impacted by furloughs, layoffs, limiting of hours, or simply not being able to work due to the restrictions in place and not being deemed essential in the eyes of government. The stress of these times can feel overwhelming, but just know that you are not alone, we are all in this together.

Despite feeling like we have just as little answers now as we did when this started, there are so many positives that have come as a result of this pandemic. Community. We are confirming and strengthening the power of community. Local neighborhoods, towns, and counties are all coming together to assist those working the frontlines and those who are in need. The amount of fundraising through social media platforms, food donations, mask making, and support of small restaurants has been incredible. So many people have stepped up and are working collectively as a community to help one another. You all deserve a pat on the back for doing your part. In the midst of being home and having more time on our hands, we should keep focus on what we are accomplishing as a community in helping others through this.

Home. It is a place we love. It is a feeling we have. It is something that takes on more meanings now than ever before. It is where our everyday life revolves around. It is our restaurant, our child’s classroom, our exercise space. It is where we stress, it is where we relax, and it is where we rest. For most, we are now given the opportunity to create more memories than ever imagined. Parents, each day you are the chef, the teacher, the entertainment, the guardian to keeping everyone safe as this virus rides its course. As hectic and crazy as it may get, enjoy this time to be home. In the blink of an eye we will be back to the hustle and bustle of everyday life where we convince ourselves that we don’t have the time to stop and smell the roses like the moments and memories being built within our walls. Take it all in.

Community and home. Two vital components that make us, us. We are all in this together. Let that be our guiding light as we navigate through this. Continue to practice all recommended guidelines to help flatten the curve. We will get through this.
